This short film by the London Housing Foundation is aimed at workers and residents in supported housing schemes across London. Its key message is that moving out of a hostel and into the PRS, rather than waiting for social housing, may be the best way for people to move on with their lives.
The film has been produced for hostel managers, Supporting People bodies, local authority housing departments, homelessness agencies and others who want to contribute to transforming the culture of hostels and inspiring people to consider the PRS as a positive and sustainable route out of homelessness.
The film features interviews with Danny, who has experience of living in a hostel and has since moved into the PRS; and with Mr Ahmed, a landlord who rents his flats out to individuals who have a history of homelessness.
