The LHF's PRS programme

This website was developed and launched as part of the London Housing Foundation's Private Rented Sector programme, which ran until October 2008. At which point, Crisis were invited to take over the reigns and to continue to develop it as a useful resource for anyone interested in the subject.

This section of the website describes the history of the Foundation's programme of work.

The core of the London Housing Foundation’s programme was focused on developing new ways of using the private rented sector (PRS) to provide an effective resource for single homeless people. The programme was led by the then programme manager Harmit Kambo.

The Foundation sought to make a major contribution to unlocking the PRS for single homeless people through providing both funding for new initiatives and a focus for learning, dissemination and action for all those involved in any PRS initiative: homeless people, tenants, landlords, homeless agencies, local authorities and others.

As the programme is now complete and the Foundation's work has been handed over to Crisis, please email private.renting@crisis.org.uk if you have any questions, ideas for collaborations or suggestions.
